So you want to be a
No Pipeline Neighbor™
(just kidding, we didn’t copyright that, we just think it’s a cute title.)
Amazing! You’re in the right place. Together, we will:
Build local solidarity with your neighbors
Stop paying National Grid for the North Brooklyn Pipeline, which they built without community consent, and harms the health of Brooklyn and the safety of the planet.
So here’s how you do it!
If you haven’t already, fill out this form, and tell us how many flyers you want to give out.
2. Pick up the flyers from a local organizer. Sometimes, we can deliver them to you personally!
3. Write notes on each flyer to your neighbor. (You can begin writing notes any time, even before you get your flyers!) Try to keep it really local, maybe include the street/neighborhood you live in, to make sure people understand that this issue impacts them. Here are some examples:
4. Find a way to hang your flyers. Some of them may come as a door hanger with a hook in the paper, but if not, get creative! We’ve been punching holes in them and tying on rubber bands to hang them on doorknobs. (But don’t put them in mailboxes - that is actually illegal.)
If you have good ideas for how to hang flyers, tell us!
5.✨Go out and hang the flyers on your neighbors’ doors! ✨
Make sure you remember to wear your mask when flyering - we keep us safe.
6. Fill out this form when you’re done, to keep track of which streets have had flyers distributed. It can always be found at bit.ly/strikeinput.
7. Optional: if you want to be in a social media post, send a photo of you and sentence or two about why you are a No Pipeline Neighbor to phil@saneenergyproject.org.
8. Congratulate yourself on being in a grassroots organizing team-you’re amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
